Born in LaRue, Texas, Ester F. Evans was one of the eleven children of Henry and Gertrude Cofer Evans. Raised within a close-knit East Texas family, he carried the values of hard work, discipline, faith and responsibility throughout his life. A Career in Las Vegas Ester later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he built a long and respected career in the hospitality industry. For many years, he worked in hotel and casino security and held leadership positions at several Las Vegas properties. He is especially remembered for his service at the historic Frontier Hotel, where he rose to the position of director of security. In that role, Ester was entrusted with protecting hotel guests, employees and property in one of the country's busiest entertainment and hospitality destinations. His responsibilities required discretion, courage, sound judgment and strong leadership. His many years at the Frontier reflected the confidence others placed in his professionalism and ability to manage demanding situations. Family history also associates Ester's career with Las Vegas hotel properties connected to businessman Howard Hughes. His long service at the Frontier Hotel remains an important and proud part of the Evans family story. Family, Service and Homegoing Ester married Doretha Milligan in Las Vegas in 1975. After completing his years of service in Nevada, he returned to Texas and later made his home in Waco. He was also a United States military veteran and, following his passing on October 5, 2012, was laid to rest with honor at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Ester F. Evans is remembered as a devoted husband, military veteran, respected security professional and proud member of the Evans family. His life represents another remarkable chapter in the journey of Henry and Gertrude Evans's children from the communities of East Texas to careers and accomplishments across the country.
